New on Eluna - November 10, 2013

These new restaurants are all in spectacular buildings that range from the coffee shop in Kfar Saba housed in a gorgeous preserved early-Israel mansion, to the new restaurant in Mishkenot Shaananim created from an empty space. There is a dairy restaurant in a preserved Jerusalem building across from the Jaffa Gate with a rooftop vantage that takes in the best of Jerusalem, and a long-standing Rehavia coffee shop, redone as a meat restaurant.

Whatever these restaurants are serving, we are eating, in absolutely privileged surroundings.

AZZAFORTY kosher Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Jerusalem's Rechavia neighborhood, is a restaurant in jet lag. The restaurant wakes up in the late afternoon and keeps going through the bleary-eyed hours of the morning.

AzzaForty opens the evening dinner menu with a selection of meats, lamb, chicken, fish and even pasta. It's not over yet. In the night time AzzaForty offers their insomniac menu, light on the food and heavy on the drink.

Not all LECHEM EREZ branch Restaurants are created equal. Some are not kosher and some are not located in amazing buildings. Lechem Erez on Rothchild Street in Kfar Saba is the complete experience. Under the hashgacha of the local Rabbanut, Lechem Erez Kfar Saba is housed in a magnificent preserved early-Israel mansion. There is seating on this porch, that porch, and inside in a variety of spaces. The menu is coffee shop fare, including salads, sandwiches, toastim, a few more elaborate dishes and a great selection of drinks. eLuna visited this restaurant and we wrote up our take.
