HaAri 8

HaAri 8
Kitchen & Bar
8 HaAri St., Safed
Tel: 04-6920033
Kashrut: Rabbanut Safed

Open Sunday - Thursday from 12:00pm until 10:00pm.
Fridays and Motzei Shabbat: by reservation only. Closed Shabbat.

Picture a South American style grill with great meat, properly cooked to order, served promptly with a relish of delicious side dishes, and home-made liqueurs, such as fig arak and limoncello. The setting is a rustic, stone-arched century-old building, off the beaten path, yet a short walk from Safed's old city. The decor fits the mystical Safed mood, while the name of the restaurant reflects the street's name after the famed Kabbalist the Ari.

Ahh the food... it's not fancy,..... but it's real good! Choose something oriental to start off, like a Syrian kebob or eggplant, both served with tahini. Then sink your teeth into an entrecote or sirloin steak, or pick St. Peters fish or a hot mushroom salad. There are plenty of spirits, such as beer and liquor, plus the home-made liqueurs like arak, which we mentioned above. And do leave some room for the tasty desserts.

Kan Kai- Kibbutz Einat (near Rosh Haayin)

Kan Kai Sushi Bar and Asian Kitchen
Kibbutz Einat (near Rosh Haayin)
Tel: 03-9021833
Kashrut: Rabbanut of the Southern Sharon
Hours: Open Sunday - Thursday 10:00am to 10:00pm. Fridays: 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Closed Shabbat.
January 2012
Kan Kai Sushi Bar and Asian Kitchen is located at Kibbutz Einat, adjacent to the entrance to the Limonim Simcha hall.

Kan Kai is a small and basic restaurant in a cabin-style structure. The indoors is rustic, with just a few tables, heated by a very good air conditioner. In the nice weather there is probably pleasant seating outdoors.

What this restaurant is lacking in atmosphere it makes up in food and in its very low prices. They do a very lively take away business with delivery in Rosh Haayin and the area. ...

Kan Kai has a large menu with fixed items and with items that you can configure yourself. Want to add mushrooms to your sushi? Just say the word and for 2 shekels they will add mushrooms to most of the sushi types (though there are some that are fixed recipes and cannot be changed). Just about any vegetable that you can mention is available. Your choice.

Kashrut: Rabbanut Baztra

What fruit is the Sharon area famous for? If you said strawberries you were right, but not on this test. On the Cafe Tapuz test the answer is orange groves (tapuz = orange).

Cafe Tapuz is situated in the middle of an orange grove in the quiet hamlet of Bazra, which is just north of Ra'anana. Bazra abuts the better known Beni Zion. Follow the signs on route 4 to either Bazra or Bnei Zion and you will find the restaurant. Look for the large orange on the side of the road and of course the sign.
